To provide professional health, fitness and sport-specific training in a state-of-the-art facility at little or no cost to people with disabilities or their families.
To create a full-service health and fitness training facility with a unique, unifying and effective training concept for people with and without physical and intellectual disabilities.
Strength in Unity
Lions United will be committed to advancing and supporting the principles of Special Olympics Project Unify and Unify Sports®. Both programs strive to build welcoming communities by bringing together people with and without disabilities.
Lions United will be the first and only facility in Minneapolis-St. Paul designed specifically for special-needs athletes, especially people with autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy.
Lions United will be driven by what’s best for its athletes, not profits for owners or shareholders.
We partnered with incentive programs to make membership more affordable then other gyms.
Lions United will provide generic and sport-specific athletic and nutrition training for individuals, groups and teams.
Founder Andy Cameron has coached and trained people with disabilities for more than 15 years. He is certified in personal training for special populations, sportsnutrition and nine Special Olympics sports. He’s building a team of equally experienced and certified coaches, personal trainers and sports nutritionists to work with Lions United athletes.
Like Coach Andy, Lions United coaches, trainers and sports nutritionists – some of whom have disabilities themselves – will be passionate about working with people with disabilities and provide a welcoming, safe place for them to train.
